What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing pure oxygen within a pressurised chamber. The increased air pressure means that the lungs can gather significantly more oxygen than they would when breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure.

This in turn means that the blood can carry this extra oxygen throughout the body; a body needs an adequate supply of oxygen to function properly; but when tissues are damaged, it requires even more oxygen to thrive.

As the extra oxygen flows through your system, it can help to fight bacteria and stimulate the release of growth factors and stem cells, which in turn promote healing.

Oxygen therapy has been in the UK for over 40 years, although used most extensively for divers who are suffering from ‘the bends’ (a decompression sickness)

Those suffering from MS have also had access to HBOT, although only via a small number of clinics.

Why Use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

HBOT is a peaceful and relaxing treatment, which can offer remarkable relief and recovery from a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and diseases.

There are a huge range of benefits associated with more oxygen reaching vital organs and tissues.

A course of HBOT can relieve, and speed up management and recovery from:
